Awarded as a \u201cFlagship project\u201d, featured in May 2023 TESIM Newsletter and in EURONEWS, Smart Regions.<br \/>\nREDACt led to the development of a comprehensive Rapid Earthquake Damage Assessment (REDA) System which includes:<br \/>\n\u2022 REDA Platform providing scenario-based and near real-time, harmonized damage assessments for buildings, gas pipelines, and geotechnical failures (e.g., landslides, liquefaction), thus supporting coordinated response in Cross-Border Areas.<br \/>\n\u2022 Smartphone App, designed for public use.It delivers real-time event information, enables users to send reassuring messages, submit felt reports, and view maps of refuge areas.<br \/>\n\u2022 Educational Hub to raise public awareness, promote neighborhood-level volunteering, and support situational awareness during emergencies.<br \/>\nThe system underwent extensive validation. Continuous engagement with target groups ensured that project outputs were aligned with user needs and the goals of the funding program. By serving both disaster management authorities and the public, the REDA system enhances earthquake preparedness and community resilience, contributing to long-term sustainability across the region.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"widget-title\"><strong>Earthquake Resilient Schools (EReS)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/civil-protection-knowledge-network.europa.eu\/projects\/eres\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2685 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.topogeo.ihu.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/\u0395\u03b9\u03ba\u03cc\u03bd\u03b12.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"335\" height=\"194\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.topogeo.ihu.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/\u0395\u03b9\u03ba\u03cc\u03bd\u03b12.png 378w, https:\/\/www.topogeo.ihu.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/\u0395\u03b9\u03ba\u03cc\u03bd\u03b12-300x174.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 335px) 100vw, 335px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">A Union Civil Protection Mechanism 2022 project. \u03a4he EReS project delivers critical advancements in seismic hazard and risk assessment for the Greece-T\u00fcrkiye CBA, fostering collaboration and data sharing through platforms like the Rapid Earthquake Damage Assessment system. By harmonizing methodologies and focusing on vulnerable infrastructures such as schools, the project enhances the region&#8217;s resilience to seismic events. Continued efforts to refine risk models and expand real-time monitoring will further enhance support for National, Regional and Local authorities in their preparedness and mitigation planning<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"widget-title\"><strong>Rapid Earthquake Damage Assessment_Expanded &#8211; REDA_NEXt (BSB00942)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3681 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.topogeo.ihu.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/redanext_topogeo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"202\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.topogeo.ihu.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/redanext_topogeo.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.topogeo.ihu.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/redanext_topogeo-300x59.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.topogeo.ihu.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/redanext_topogeo-768x152.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The Rapid Earthquake Damage Assessment_Expanded (REDA_NEXt BSB00942) project, in the framework of the INTERREG NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme, aims to achieve a jointly developed and upgraded Rapid Earthquake Damage Assessment platform (REDA.p) for scenario-based and near real-time damage assessment. This platform is expected to significantly benefit Civil Protection services, the scientific community and the public, by enhancing prevention, preparedness and response planning and ultimately improving community resilience in the region.<br \/>\nThe project builds upon the achievements of the Rapid Earthquake Damage Assessment Consortium &#8211; REDACt project BSB966 (BSB JOP 2014-20 Programme), by extending its coverage to Bulgaria. This extension contributes to the creation of a unified Black Sea Basin area, together with T\u00fcrkiye, Greece, Romania and Moldova, which participated in the REDACt project.<br \/>\nREDA-NEXt transnational cooperation will optimize resources, enhance data sharing and accuracy, harmonize methodologies, foster capacity building, and support strategic planning on a broader scale to enhance resilience across borders.<\/p>\n<p>Total Project Budget: 499.511,03\u20ac<br \/>\nEU funds (Interreg funds): 449.559,92\u20ac<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"widget-title\"><strong>ASTRAIOS (Analysis of Skills, Training, Research and Innovation Opportunities in Space)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.astraios.eu\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2687 size-full alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.topogeo.ihu.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/\u0395\u03b9\u03ba\u03cc\u03bd\u03b14.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"125\" height=\"125\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The advancement of the EU space sector is highly dependent on the availability of high educational standards, skilled professionals, and the ability for these professionals to upgrade and update their skills.<br \/>\nThe ASTRAIOS project will foster innovation, increase EU competitiveness in the space sector and improve the dynamics of the space entrepreneurships ecosystems.<br \/>\nTo achieve this, the ASTRAIOS team will provide an exhaustive view and understanding of the current and future Space curricula and courses offered in the EU-27.
